Marty Muse

Here is some of my stuff:

I currently have two pedal steels that I use. My Sho-Bud Pro-II from the mid-seventies, and my 1965 Emmons wrap-around. I had been playing a Fessenden on the road for the past 5 years or so and was very happy with it. Unfortunately I needed to thin out the herd a bit and I just can't seem to part with either of these old friends. I have been playing the Sho-Bud on the road and used it on Robert Earl Keen's latest recording. In fact I have been using it for most of my recordings as of late. Below are photos of each guitar.

I use the same basic setup on both of the pedal steels. Each one has a different change here and there, but my basic setup is as follows:

I have several lap steels that I use from time to time. The first picture is of "The Twins". They are basically identical Supros
from the early sixties. The bodies on these are a little bigger than some of the other Valco models. They really resonate nicely,
and the pickups are hard to beat. I keep The Twins out on the road with me and tune one to open G (dobro tuning) and sometimes
drop it to D for certain songs. The other I keep in an open A five string tuning. Low to high: A E A C# E.

The next one is a Gibson BR-4 circa 1947. Great deep, rich tone!

Here's a National Electric Hawaiian from the late 30s.

Here's my Paul Beard Goldtone that I use on the road. It's got the
Beard/Fishman/Jerrry DouglasAura system installed in it. I love it!
